Sociology and Social Work Review (SSWR) is an international, peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes high-quality research in sociology, social work, criminology, and related fields. The journal serves as an international platform for the dissemination of interdisciplinary scholarship addressing contemporary social issues.
The journal follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance.
Aims and Scope
SSWR is dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary research across the fields of sociology, social work, criminology, and public policy. The journal promotes scholarly dialogue between diverse academic traditions and encourages contributions that integrate theoretical perspectives, empirical research, and policy analysis.
The journal places particular emphasis on research that demonstrates international relevance, comparative perspectives, and innovative approaches to contemporary social challenges.
SSWR encourages submissions employing quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research approaches.
The journal may also publish special issues dedicated to emerging themes and interdisciplinary topics of particular academic relevance.

Peer Review Process
All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening followed by a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content. All articles are freely available without subscription, registration, or embargo and may be read, downloaded, copied, distributed, shared, and adapted under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0), provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and source, a link to the license is provided, and any changes made are indicated. Any derivative works must be distributed under the same license.
Publication Model
Beginning with Volume 10 (2026), Sociology and Social Work Review (SSWR) adopts a continuous publication model. Articles are published online immediately after acceptance and final production, ensuring the rapid dissemination of research findings.
Each article is assigned its final citation and DOI upon publication and is subsequently assigned to the corresponding issue.
Volumes 1–9 (2017–2025) were published under a traditional issue-based publication model.
The journal does not charge any submission fees, article processing charges (APCs), or publication fees.
Archiving and Preservation
Sociology and Social Work Review (SSWR) ensures the long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). In addition, the journal participates in distributed preservation systems including LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS), ensuring permanent access to published articles even if the journal website becomes unavailable.
